With funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, EPA’s Clean School Bus Program provides $5 billion over the next five years to replace existing school buses with zero-emission and low-emission models. EPA is offering $500 million through the 2022 Clean School Bus Rebates for zero-emission and low-emission school bus rebates as the first funding opportunity.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law allows EPA to prioritize certain applicants in the Clean School Bus Program. Applicants requesting funds to replace school buses that serve a school district that meets one of four prioritization criteria will be offered more funding per bus and receive preference in the selection process in the 2022 Clean School Bus Rebates.

The following 24 Connecticut school districts were just announced as prioritized by the EPA as they are either rural, high-need, or receiving impact funds.
