Greater New Haven Clean Cities Coalition and other Clean Cities Coalitions nationwide are working with CALSTART to explore ways to integrate electric vehicles (EVs) and charging into a fleet procurement.

Deployment of EVs in fleets offer many long-term benefits. Eliminating fuel consumption saves fleets money, contributes to creating a better environment, and promotes energy independence. Access to EVs is not always easy, and EV Smart Fleets is a way for fleets to gain access to the benefits of deploying EVs.

EV Smart Fleets aims to develop an aggregate purchasing model for EVs. Aggregated purchasing is when one central organization coordinates customers to maximize their collective buying power. By developing a new type of buying system that could lower costs and expand product availability for EVs.

Right now we are asking state and local government agency officials to fill out a survey to help this effort.
